Wilhelm Karlowitsch Heide

Wilhelm Karlovich Heide ( Russian Вильгельм Карлович Гейде * 1824 , † December 25, 1887 . Jul / 6. January  1888 greg. In Omsk ) was a Russian architect German descent.

Life

Heide began studying at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg in 1840 as a self-paying student . In 1841 he received the Small Silver Medal for his work. In 1843 he completed his studies with the project of a governor's house as an artist of architecture . In 1844 he found a job in the state owned Kontor Kazan . In 1846 he traveled abroad at his own expense to improve his knowledge.

From 1848 to 1852 Heide was the city architect of the city of Sevastopol . In 1850 he was appointed academician and in 1852 academician of the Imperial Academy of the Arts for his project of a hotel for the capital. Heide later was the architect of the Pavlovsky Girls' Institute in St. Petersburg (1862–1866) built by Rudolf Żelaziewicz . In 1868 he became the Oblast Architect of Akmolinsk Oblast and remained so until his death.

In 1876, Heide was appointed architect by the military governor of the Siberian Kyrgyz Oblast based in Omsk . In Omsk, Heide was involved in the renovation of the Siberian military high school (later cadet corps ), in which the children of Kazakh sultans , beys and elders were admitted without an entrance examination. The language of instruction was Tatar , and French or German could be chosen as a foreign language .

Heide was buried in the Cossack cemetery in Omsk.
