Rudolf Angermann

August Moritz Rudolf Angermann (born December 27, 1880 in Dresden , † July 17, 1954 in Hagen ) was a German librarian.

Life

He was the son of the royal Saxon long judge council Wiprecht Angermann and his wife Marie Elisabeth nee Roßberg. After attending grammar school in Dresden, Rudolf Angermann went to Leipzig University . In addition, Angermann received specialist musical training at the Dresden and Leipzig conservatories.

He completed his studies in 1911 with his doctorate as Dr. phil. from. The topic of his dissertation was The Typus des Liedvoll in the German folk ballad. Then Rudolf Angermann worked at the public library in Dresden-Plauen and then at the city libraries in Elberfeld and Stettin . He successfully applied for the position of director of the Hagen city ​​library in Westphalia . He held this office from July 1, 1921 to January 1, 1946. He had specialized specifically in library studies and music libraries.

Rudolf Angermann was among other things editor of the Westdeutsche Blätter für Büchereberatung . From 1922 to 1947 he headed the state advisory center for public libraries in the Prussian province of Westphalia .

Rudolf Angermann was married to Charlotte, born Willkomm. The children Dittrich (* 1915), Ulrike (* 1916) and Burkhart (* 1917) emerged from their marriage.
