Rudolf Brandmaier (born January 12, 1927 ) is a former German soccer player who played 158 point games and scored four goals for Bayern Munich in the Oberliga Süd and 2nd Oberliga Süd .

Career

At the age of 17, Brandmaier was promoted to the first team of FC Bayern Munich as a defender because a number of regular players were still at war . But it wasn't until the 1949/50 season that he played his first two league games. He made his debut in the top German league at the time on February 26, 1950 (23rd matchday) in the 3: 4 defeat in the home game against BC Augsburg . In the 1950/51 season he also scored his first two goals in 15 point games. 1951/52 he played all 30 games of the season, but remained without a goal. In the following three seasons he scored one goal in 49 point games, but rose - due to the poor performance in the 1954/55 season - in the 2nd Oberliga Süd. With 33 of 34 second division games, he contributed to the return to the Oberliga Süd . In his penultimate season he played 27 point games and the elimination game in the DFB-Pokal competition, which he won with the team on August 4, 1957 4-1 against Spandauer SV in Berlin . In his last season he was only used twice, but was once again able to excel as a goalscorer.
