Rudolf Burkhardt (physician)

Otto Rudolf Burkhardt (born August 3, 1930 in Leipzig ; † January 8, 2001 in Hamburg ) was a German physician and music therapist .

Life

Burkhardt co-founded the Music Therapy Association in Münster in 1984 and was a long-time member of the board there. He was also a lecturer in the Prague distance learning course and later Münster further education course in music and dance therapy as well as chief physician of the psychosomatic department in the Ginsterhof hospital and author of the magazine " Music, Dance and Art Therapy ". With his writings, he made a significant contribution to the promotion of artistic therapies “with special emphasis on music therapy”.
