Georg Hörmann (educational scientist)

Georg Hörmann (born November 13, 1946 in Ulm ) is a German psychologist, doctor, psychotherapist and em. Professor of Education at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg .

Life

After graduating from high school, Hörmann studied teaching at grammar schools ( philosophy , Latin , theology , pedagogy ), musicology ( master’s course ), psychology (diploma) and human medicine in 1965 . He graduated from the Westphalian School of Music with a master's degree in musicology (MA) and was an organist a. a. at the Petri Church in Münster; general examination in philosophy and pedagogy, first philological state examination for grammar schools in the subjects of Latin, theology, pedagogy, diploma in psychology, medical state examination, license to practice medicine, recognition for the use of the title psychotherapy ( Medical Association Westphalia-Lippe ), doctorates at the philosophical, medical and the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences (Dr. phil., Dr. med. , Dr. rer. soc.) and habilitation in the field of education.

From 1971 to 1975 he worked freely in adult and home education and in empirical research projects. From the winter semester 1972/1973 he was a lecturer and later a scientific assistant in the Department of Education at the University of Münster . From the winter semester 1975/1976 he was also a lecturer in psychology at the University of Education in Westphalia-Lippe , Münster department . From the 1980/81 winter semester he was also a lecturer at the Münster University of Applied Sciences for psychology. In the winter semester 1985/1986 taught at the medical faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum (medical psychology).

From the summer semester 1983 to the winter semester 1986/1987 he was a substitute professor (C4) at the University of Bielefeld (AG Ped. Diagnosis and Advice). From the summer semester 1987 to the winter semester 1987/1988 he was a substitute professor for empirical and statistical methodology (Prof. PH.DHJ Scheerer) at the University of Münster. In 1988 he worked as a doctor in an internal medicine practice. Since the winter semester 1988/1989 he has been teaching at the chair for pedagogy at the University of Bamberg (1991–1992 Dean of the Faculty of Education, Philosophy, Psychology / 1992–1994 Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education, Philosophy, Psychology). He has been retired since 2012. He also headed health education within the framework of teaching at vocational schools and the research center for child and adolescent psychotherapy.
