Rudolf Cammisar

Rudolf Cammisar (born April 2, 1891 in Strasbourg , German Empire , † February 21, 1983 in Tübingen ; wrongly also Rudolf Cammissar ) was a German painter , graphic artist and draftsman .

Cammisar studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Strasbourg and at the Stuttgart Academy under Robert Poetzelberger . He was a soldier in World War I and was expelled from Strasbourg by the French in 1918. He then lived in Tübingen, his wife's hometown.

He was a son of the glass blower and master carpenter August Cammisar (born September 11, 1847 in Rheinzabern ; † May 8, 1910 in Strasbourg ) and his wife Marie, née. Markert, from Kehl . His siblings were the painter Auguste Cammissar (1873–1962), Karl Cammisar (1876–1942) and Marie Barbe Cammisar (* 1881). In 1924 he married Juliane Reischle (born September 26, 1889 in Tübingen; † October 30, 1989 ibid) and had three children with her: Franz Cammisar, Mechtild Maria Cammisar and Odilia Barbara Cammisar.
