Rudolf Collet (born August 20, 1958 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Collet had played in the youth of SG 1896 Mainz before he moved to 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 1972 . The midfield technician won the Southwest Championship with the youth team in the 1976/77 season. In the competition for the German A-Junior Championship he failed with his team only in the semifinals against the eventual German champions MSV Duisburg. Under coach Horst Hülß he was brought into action in the 1st Southwest Amateur League. In his first senior year, 1977/78, he was after 36 league appearances with 15 goals with the team Südwestmeister, but he failed at the side of goal scorer Gerhard Bopp in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 1978/79 season Mainz 05 took third place; Colett had scored new goals in 33 games.

He joined SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga for the 1979/80 season and immediately prevailed there. He completed 33 games in his first season, in which he scored eight goals under coach Jörg Berger (until January 1980) and his successor Werner Olk . Darmstadt took fourth place. In his second season in the 2nd Bundesliga, the 1980/81 season , Collet and his teammates were five points ahead of the champions of the southern season of the second division. Mostly he had formed the midfield with Willibald Weiss and Oliver Posniak and scored eight goals in 33 games. In attack, Horst Neumann had scored 27 goals in 36 games.

This was followed by promotion to the Bundesliga . Collet was no longer part of the permanent staff. Darmstadt 98 rose with the coach Olk (until March 13, 1982) and successor Manfred Krafft as 17th in the 2nd division. Collet's Bundesliga debut took place on September 5, 1981 in a 1-1 home draw against Werder Bremen when he was substituted on in the final minutes. Eight days later, on September 12, 1981, he scored as a substitute, in the 86th minute of the away game against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the equalizer to make it 2-2. He played his ninth and last Bundesliga game on May 22, 1982 in a 3: 3 home draw against VfB Stuttgart, in which he was substituted on again in the final minutes. Collet played another season at Darmstadt in the 2nd Bundesliga (1982/83), then moved to SV Wiesbaden and SpVgg EGC Wirges for a year before playing for SV Wehen Taunusstein for another eight years . With labor he rose in 1989 in the amateur league Hessen .

Overall, Collet is led with nine Bundesliga games (one goal) and 71 games in the 2nd Bundesliga with 16 goals.
