Rudolf Debiel

Rudolf Debiel (born February 9, 1931 in Porselen ; † October 15, 2015 in Cologne ) was a German theater and film actor , author and theater director.

Life

Rudolf Debiel studied philosophy at the University of Bonn and was established in 1957 with a thesis on the metaphor of the actor playfulness Dr. phil. PhD. In 1960 he directed the Municipal Theater Oberhausen in the dunce cap . He began his acting career in 1968 with the television production Mord in Frankfurt . A year later he also worked as a producer on the film Rotmord directed by Peter Zadek .

He achieved nationwide fame as a man with a briefcase and hat in the successful WDR children's series Der Spatz vom Wallrafplatz , in which he appeared in all 36 episodes. This was directed by Armin Maiwald , the puppet player was Debiel's partner Rudolf Fischer .

Numerous other television productions followed, including over 360 episodes of the series Die Anrheiner . Debiel taught media education at a university of applied sciences.

From 1995 Debiel built his own theater in Cologne , the Freie Literaturbühne , where he performed both classical theater literature and his own material. Due to health reasons he gave up the theater in 2008.

Rudolf Debiel last lived in a retirement home in Cologne-Porz . He was married and had two daughters and a son. Debiel was buried on October 22nd, 2015 after a memorial service in the church of St. Michael in Porz-Niederündorf at the Niederündorf cemetery.
