Rudolf Fleck (Economist)

Rudolf Fleck (born March 20, 1908 in Leipzig , † September 15, 1985 in Kiel ) was a German economist , engineer , lawyer and writer . He taught at the University of Leipzig and at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences .

Life

Fleck studied under Kurt Wiedenfeld and Wilhelm Volz , among others , law and economics , economic geography and business education at the business school and the University of Leipzig. In 1940 he began to work as an assistant in the economics service. During the Second World War he became a prisoner of war and after his return home he was employed in the economics and social science faculty of the University of Leipzig. Here he worked under Georg Mayer as a lecturer and researcher in the fields of geographic geography and world economics. In 1950 he moved to Kiel.

Fleck was the author of numerous academic and essayistic publications and editor of the handbook “Settlement Law Abroad” and a theatrical version of the letter novel “ Dangerous Liaisons ” by Choderlos de Laclos (first performance: Lübecker Kammerspiele 1981). He also created a radio play adaptation of the material, which was premiered in 1983 on ORF.

He was married to Rosemarie Fleck and together they had a son named Andreas (* 1954).
