Rudolf Franz Paul von Zamory

Rudolf Franz Paul von Zamory (born May 1, 1812 in Gotzkau ( Schlochau district ), † June 30, 1890 in Berlin ) was royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 36th Infantry Regiment.

origin

His parents were Friedrich Otto von Zamory (* 1771; † October 30, 1845) and his wife Henriette Ludovike von Vangerow (* July 29, 1783; † June 14, 1844), divorced from Georg Friedrich von Pirch († March 26, 1832 ). His father was major a. D. from the 4th Infantry Regiment.

Life

He came to Kulm as a cadet on August 19 and then became a cadet in Berlin on March 31, 1826 . On July 29, 1829, he came to the 37th Infantry Regiment as a portepeefähnrich and was promoted to second lieutenant on March 11, 1830. On October 1, 1839, he was posted to the 8th Artillery Brigade for one year. After his return he was transferred from February 6, 1842 to March 20, 1843 to the Landwehr Battalion of the 37th Infantry Regiment, where he became adjutant and accounting officer. On July 22, 1842 he was appointed Premier-Lieutenant and on September 23, 1847 as captain and company commander. He came on September 15, 1855 as a major in the 13th Landwehr Regiment, where he was commander of the 2nd Battalion. But already on November 23, 1858 he came to the 35th Infantry Regiment as commander of the 2nd Battalion. He was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class on January 17, 1860 , and was promoted to lieutenant colonel on July 1, 1860. On August 25, 1860, he was entrusted with the command of the 36th Infantry Regiment, initially placed à la suite of the regiment but confirmed as commander on September 14, 1860. On September 20, 1861, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd class with ribbon, and on October 18, 1861, he was promoted to colonel. On September 16, 1862, his parting with pension and regimental uniform was approved.

He was then put up for disposition on May 20, 1866 , when he was mobilized for the German War , he was brought back and joined the 29th Infantry Brigade as deputy commander. On September 17, 1866, he was released from this position again. For this he received the character of major general on January 3, 1867 .

During the mobilization for the Franco-Prussian War , he became deputy commander of the 6th Infantry Brigade on July 18, 1870. He was released from this position on July 27, 1871 and awarded the Order of the Crown, 2nd Class , on August 3, 1871 .

He died in Berlin on June 30, 1890.

family

He married Christiane Pauline Wilhelmine Schneider (* 1821; † February 22, 1899), a daughter of the secretary in the war chancellery Karl Schneider, in Gnesen on February 28, 1843 . The couple had several children:

  • Maria Agnes Zelie Pauline (born January 4, 1847)
  • Paul Hermann Richard (February 1, 1849 - August 19, 1850)
