Rudolf Gompper

Rudolf Gompper (born February 12, 1926 in Stuttgart , † March 28, 1999 ) was a German chemist.

Career

Gompper received his doctorate in 1953 at the Technical University of Stuttgart under Hellmut Bredereck with the thesis reactions of formamide with halogen compounds and syntheses in the oxazole series , followed in 1958 by his habilitation. In 1964 he was appointed as an adjunct professor at the TH Stuttgart, in 1965 he went to Munich as an associate professor and was there from 1968 a full professor of organic chemistry .

His main research interests included stable anti-aromatics, donor / acceptor effects and organic radicals.
