Rudolf Gorczewicz (born March 26, 1923 ) is a former German football player. In 1951 he played for Stahl Altenburg in the GDR Oberliga , the highest league in GDR football .

Athletic career

At the then late football age of 28, Rudolf Gorczewicz joined the GDR upper division club, the Altenberger Betriebsportgemeinschaft (BSG) Stahl, for the 1951/52 season . There he was supposed to replace the previous regular player and striker Heinz Vollert . Altenburg's player- coach Herbert Klemig immediately used Gorczewicz as a center forward in the first league game. Gorczewicz's debut ended in disaster, because BSG Stahl lost 5-1 at home against Motor Zwickau . In the 56th minute, Gorczewicz Altenburg's only goal made it 3-1. This goal gave coach Klemig hope, and he used the goalscorer again as a center forward in the next two league games. Gorczewicz did not score any more and was substituted in his third game injured in the first minute of the second half. Then he was no longer used in the league until the end of the season and Stahl Altenburg was relegated. Rudolf Gorczewicz then no longer appeared in the higher-class game operation.
