Rudolf Graeffer

Rudolf Gräffer (* 1734 in Lausitz ; † July 1, 1817 in Vienna ) was an Austrian publisher .

Gräffer was the uncle of the bookseller Franz Gräffer . Despite Metternich's censorship , Gräffer tried to publish and distribute works by foreign writers in particular.

He was also the first publisher in the Empire of Austria , the vellum introduced and used on a large extent. This was preceded by long study trips to printing companies and publishers in Great Britain and the Netherlands.
