Karl Rudolf Grahmann (born November 7, 1888 in Leipzig ; † September 6, 1962 in Koblenz ) was a German geologist who mainly dealt with Quaternary research and hydrogeology as well as archeology.

Grahmann was a regional geologist in Saxony before the Second World War. In the 1930s he was the founder of the state groundwater service in Saxony.

In 1932 he carried out a comprehensive inventory of the German loess deposits .

In the 1950s, Grahmann examined the archaeological finds of Markkleeberg from a geological point of view , which he classified in the Saale Ice Age and thus assigned a much older age than many archaeologists of the time thought possible due to the advanced level of stone tools.

Together with Paul Woldstedt, he was one of the founders of the International Union for Quaternary Research and of the German Quaternary Association (1948).

In 1958 he received the Albrecht Penck Medal . He had been a member of the Leopoldina since 1952 .
