Rudolf Grimme

Rudolf Grimme (born January 19, 1929 in Weidenau , Czechoslovakia ; †  May 6, 2004 in Unterhaching ) was a German engineer and university professor .

Live and act

After his expulsion, Grimme studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich and received his doctorate in 1958 under Alfred Habel on "The barrel roof without drawstrings". In 1965 he founded his own office for structural engineering in Munich. From 1978 to 1982 he taught at the TU Braunschweig , in 1982 he was appointed to the TUM, where he taught until his retirement in 1993. Since around 1980 he has led the Heimatbund Weidenau-Großkrosse e. V., an association of compatriots expelled from the Weidenauer Ländchen in 1946. The city of Neuburg an der Donau has been the sponsor city of the Weidenauer and Krösser expellees since around 1956 . It is also thanks to Rudolf Grimme that the partnership between the districts of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and Jesenik (Freiwaldau) exists today. Rudolf Grimme was made an honorary citizen of his hometown in 2003 and the city of Neuburg an der Donau awarded him the Citizen's Medal in 2003. Rudolf Grimme died on May 6, 2004 in Unterhaching near Munich, at the age of 75.
