Peter Godazgar

Peter Godazgar (born October 7, 1967 in Korschenbroich , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German journalist and crime writer .

Life

Peter Godazgar was born in Korschenbroich, grew up in Hückelhoven and, after graduating from high school, studied German and history in Aachen . He then volunteered at the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in Halle (Saale) and attended the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg . He made his debut as a writer with the novel for the screenplay of the hit film Knockin 'on Heaven's Door . Until 2016 Godazgar worked as editor of the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in Halle, currently he is deputy press spokesmanof the city of Halle. His strongly humorous detective novels about the dumb private investigator Markus Waldo , which have been published by Dortmund's Grafit Verlag since 2005, also play in Halle . In 2011 Godazgar received a scholarship from the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation . In 2013 he participated with the authors Kathrin Heinrichs , Carsten Sebastian Henn , Jürgen Kehrer , Ralf Kramp , Tatjana Kruse , Sandra Lüpkes and Sabine Trinkaus in the crime project 8 - The Crime Camp : The aim was to produce a crime novel with eight authors in eight days to compose. The project was given a second edition in July 2016; as a result, the detective novel "Eight corpses for dessert" appeared under the pseudonym ANOnym. At the third meeting in July 2018, a play was created. Godazgar was nominated for the Friedrich Glauser Prize in 2017 for the short crime thriller Sicherheit ist plannbar . A second nomination followed in 2019, this time for the short crime thriller Too smart for this world .

Peter Godazgar is a member of the Syndicate authors' association , and was a member of the speaking team from 2014 to 2016.
