Rudolf H. Bieri

Rudolf Herman Bieri (born July 21, 1923 , † July 24, 2012 in Wisconsin ) was a marine researcher .

Bieri doctorate at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz for Dr. rer. nat. From 1955 to 1957 he did research at the University of Minnesota .

He had been Professor of Oceanography at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg , Virginia since 1972 . He invented the hermetically sealed water sampler and is known for his research on organic compounds in sediments and oyster tissues on the Chesapeake Bay .
