Rudolf Karl Grunert

Rudolf Karl Grunert ( July 29, 1858 in Stuttgart - January 28, 1893 ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Grunert came from a family of actors, his parents were the actors Karl Grunert and Martha Petitjean . His sister Therese Grunert was also an actress.

Grunert, who was supposed to be an architect, went to America against his mother's wishes to devote himself to the acting profession. After she gave permission to go to the stage, he returned to Europe and made his debut in Görlitz in 1876 , then was engaged in Hamburg from 1876 to 1877 and in Hanover from 1877 to 1886. There appeared on March 7, 1882 as "Herold", on May 6, 1884 as "Christoph Marlow" and on October 29, 1886 as "Martino della Scala" in the Prince of Verona by Ernst von Wildenbruch .

In 1886 he went to the Dresden Court Theater as Adalbert Matkowsky's successor . There he worked in youthful and first heroic roles, in Schiller dramas, as well as "Franz" in Götz , "Templar Lord" in Nathan , "Marc Anton" in Caesar , until his death.
