Rudolf Lössl (born January 21, 1872 in Karlsbad , Bohemia , † November 3, 1915 in Komotau ) was an Austrian - Bohemian politician ( German Radical Party ), high school professor and Germanist. He was a member of the Bohemian Landtag and from 1907 to 1915 a member of the Austrian House of Representatives .

Life

Rudolf Lössl was born as the son of the gardener and house owner Franz Wenzl Lössl and attended high school in Komotau. He then studied at the Universities of Prague and Leipzig and did his military service as a one-year volunteer with Feldjäger Battalion No. 22 . Lössl was last lieutenant in the reserve. Professionally, Lössl worked as a grammar school professor, teaching German and classical philology at grammar schools in Leipzig, Gablonz and most recently in Karlsbad. Lössl was involved as a caretaker of the German language in western Bohemia and was the author of writings on folklore and political matters. In addition, he worked from 1907 as a speech attendant for the Obereger-Turngau. As a supporter of the German Radical Party, he was also a leader in the organization and promotion of German associations in Karlsbad.

Lössl was a city councilor in Karlsbad and stood in the Reichsrat election in 1907 for the pan-German unification in the electoral district of Karlsbad ( Bohemia 88 ) and achieved an absolute majority in the first ballot with 67.5 percent of the votes. In 1911 he received 82.1 percent of the vote in the Reichsrat election as a candidate for the German Radical Party in the same constituency. Lössl became a member of the House of Representatives on June 17, 1907, and was a member of the tax committee from November 1907 and a member of the teaching committee from October 1909. He was also a member of the Bohemian Landtag between 1908 and 1913. Lössl entered the army as a reserve lieutenant at the beginning of the First World War and was seriously injured by a shot in the left chest on May 2, 1915 when Austrian troops broke through between Tarnów and Gorlice . He died in hospital as a result of his wounding and was buried in Karlsbad.
