Rudolf Leyrer

Rudolf Leyrer (born August 19, 1857 in Vienna ; † December 26, 1939 there ) was an Austrian theater actor .

Life

Leyrer, son of a Viennese court attorney, decided in 1875 to become an actor. He studied for two years at the Vienna Conservatory with Bernhard Baumeister and made his debut on September 25, 1877 at the Hofburg , where he remained until July 1, 1879. From October 15, 1879 to March 16, 1880 he was a member of the City Theater in Innsbruck, worked from April 1 to November 15, 1880 at the City Theater in Brno, then until May 1, 1883 at the City Theater in Nuremberg. From August 1, 1883 to June 1, 1884 at the Thaliatheater in Hamburg, from September 16, 1884 to May 1, 1889 again in Nuremberg and joined the Association of the Cologne City Theater in September 1889. From 1905 he played at the Deutsches Volkstheater Vienna, most recently in the roles of a father.

He was also the head of the legal protection association of the German-Austrian theater association and co-founder of the Scientific Club in Vienna.

He was married to the opera soubrette Agnes Kaps .
