Rudolf Maria Hynek , pseudonym Ralph Waldo Hynek (born June 8, 1883 in Kunstadt , Austria-Hungary , † June 28, 1952 in Prague ) was a Czech doctor and author .

Life

Rudolf Hynek was born in the Moravian city ​​of art, the son of a doctor. He grew up in Brno and Pilgrams , and practiced as a doctor in Prague. Hynek wrote a number of works under his pseudonym or as “Dr. RW Hynek ”, in which he deals with the medical and religious aspects of the Turin shroud . His books “The Martertod Christi in the Light of Modern Medical Science” from 1935 and “ Golgotha , Wissenschaft und Mystik” from 1936 are the first German-language monographs on the Turin Shroud, which were widely distributed and translated into several languages. Previously, only a few articles and small letters about the Turin Shroud had been published in the German-speaking area.
