Rudolf Michaelis

Rudolf Michaelis (born March 12, 1902 in Magdeburg , † January 22, 1945 in Munich ) was a German National Socialist politician and SA leader . From the 6th electoral term in 1932 he represented the NSDAP in the German Reichstag.

Life

Michaelis attended the public school in Magdeburg from 1908 to 1913 and then the middle school in Hecklingen until 1916 . By 1918 he completed a commercial apprenticeship at the Staßfurt electricity works , after which he volunteered for the German Boy Scout Association during the First World War in Antwerp and Brussels . After the end of the war he was trained as a non-commissioned officer in Marienwerder until 1920 and then belonged to the Ehrhardt naval brigade . This was followed by training as an engineer until 1925. After working as an engineer in industry, he opened his own engineering office in Leopoldshall in August 1927 , which he relocated to Dessau in 1933 and later to Munich.

In 1923 he joined the NSDAP and became a member of the Black Reichswehr . After the party was banned, he rejoined the NSDAP in 1925 and was then local group leader in Staßfurt. In February 1930 he was elected to the city council of Staßfurt for the NSDAP and held this position until July 1931. In April 1930 he was promoted to leader of the SA in Anhalt and in early July 1932 to standartenführer . On September 1, 1933, he was promoted to Oberführer and Führer of SA Brigade No. 39 (Magdeburg Süd-Anhalt). From August 1934 he was department head of the Supreme SA leadership . On November 1, 1937, Michaelis became head of the office for physical training of the Supreme SA leadership. From the beginning of July 1938 until his death in January 1945 he was staff leader of the SA group Hochland in Munich. From September 1939 to April 1945 he was responsible for the management of the Franconian SA group. In the SA he rose to the group leader on November 9, 1938.

During the Second World War he took up the position of First Lieutenant d. R. in a mountain infantry - regiment on the western campaign , the Balkan campaign and the Soviet German war part.

In July 1932 he was elected to the German Reichstag, to which he belonged until his death.
