Rudolf Pastucha

Rudolf Pastucha (* 1936 in Zamarski near Cieszyn ( Teschen )) is a Lutheran theologian and former bishop of the Katowice diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

Career

Rudolf Pastucha studied theology at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw and was ordained a clergyman on October 20, 1963 in the Polish capital . He began his pastoral work in the Opole region , where he worked until 1980: in Lasowice Wielkie ( Oberwalden ), Lasowice Małe ( Schloßwalden ), Olesno ( Rosenberg ), Fosowskie ( Vosswalde ) and in Zawadzkie ( Andreashütte ).

In 1980 he became pastor in Bytom-Miechowice ( Miechowitz / Mechtal ), the home of Eva von Tiele-Winckler , and was Kon-Senior from 1974, and from 1981 senior of the Katowice diocese.

In 1992 he was elected Bishop of the Katowice Diocese. He held this office until 2001, when he passed it on to his successor, Bishop Tadeusz Szurman .
