Rudolf Ploch (born March 8, 1924 ) is a former German football player. For Unity / Progress Meerane he played from 1949 to 1952 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

The sports community (SG) Einheit Meerane reached the semi-finals of the soccer east zone championship for the second time in 1949 after 1948 . The squad of the Meeraner team also included the 25-year-old midfielder Rudolf Ploch. By participating in the East Zone Championship, the SG unit had also qualified for the first season of the newly founded East Zone Football League, which later became the GDR Oberliga. Meerane started the 1949/50 season as a company sports community (BSG) unit. Ploch was used from the first day of the league, where he was called up either as a defender or midfielder. At the end of the season he had completed 22 zone league games. In the 1950/51 played 36 games of the now GDR Oberliga named top division, Ploch played mainly in defense and scored his first league goal in the encounter of the third last game of the season progress Meerane - SC Lichtenberg 47 in a 5-1 victory with the 1-0 . In the course of the season the BSG was renamed Progress Meerane. In the season 1951/52 Ploch was initially absent in the first eleven league games. Then he was used in the following eleven point games in midfield, in which he again scored a goal, but did not appear in the following 14 games in the lineups of the BSG progress. At the end of the season, the BSG had to relegate to the second-rate GDR league . Rudolf Ploch finally resigned from the team at Fahrt Meerane. In the three seasons of his membership in the Meeraner team, he had come to 64 Eastern Zone / Oberliga games and scored two goals. In the higher leagues he did not appear later.
