Rudolf Preimesberger

Rudolf Preimesberger (born February 19, 1936 in Ebensee , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian art historian and university professor .

After studying art history at the University of Vienna and extensive research in Rome, Preimesberger became second director at the Central Institute for Art History in Munich , where he completed his habilitation in 1977. In 1979 he was appointed to the Free University of Berlin for the first time . He then became full professor of art history at the University of Zurich . In 1989 Preimesberger returned to the Free University of Berlin in the same position, where he taught until his retirement in 2001.
