Rudolf Puls (born May 4, 1879 in Kambs , † July 30, 1950 in Rostock ) was a German educator , administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Rudolf Puls was born on May 4th 1879 as the son of a wheelwright in Kambs near Röbel . He attended the teachers' seminar in Neukloster from 1898 to 1900 , then initially worked as a teacher in Schwerin and from 1901 in the same position in Rostock. During the Weimar Republic , Puls was a councilor in the Ministry of Education of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . In 1927 he was appointed to the state school board. After the National Socialists came to power, Puls was dismissed from civil service in 1933. From 1945 he worked as a government director in Schwerin. Rudolf Puls moved to Rostock in 1949, where he died on July 30, 1950.

Puls joined the SPD and was first deputy to the head of the city council in Rostock. From January 19 to April 7, 1921, he was Minister of State for Education, Art, Spiritual and Medical Affairs in the government of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin led by Prime Minister Johannes Stelling .
