Rudolf Quack

Rudolf Quack (born July 26, 1909 in Neuhof near Hamburg, † July 11, 2001 in Stuttgart ) was a German engineer and university professor .

Life

Rudolf Quack studied mechanical engineering and as an adjunct study electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and received his doctorate there in 1933. He then worked for various companies in the chemical industry and steam generators in Germany and Sweden . In 1953 he was appointed to the Technical University of Stuttgart . He became director of the Institute for Process Engineering and Steam Boilers (IVD) and made sure that the new Pfaffenwald location received a university-owned thermal power station .

Quack was dean of his faculty several times and was active in numerous associations and committees. In 1974 and 1975 he was a board member of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). He participated in the Working Group on Industrial Research Associations (AiF), the German Steam Boiler Committee and the German Association for Combustion Research . In addition, he founded the scientific advisory board of the Technical Association of Large Power Plant Operators (VGB) and was a member of the International Federation of Automatic Control and DECHEMA .
