Rudolf Strauch
Rudolf Strauch (born September 16, 1929 in Birkesdorf ; † March 24, 2019 ) was a German journalist .
Life
During his studies in Bonn in 1952 Strauch became a member of the fraternity of the North German and Lower Saxony . He graduated with doctorate to Dr. phil. from.
For more than two decades from 1972 onwards, he had a decisive influence on the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ) at the Madsack publishing company . He worked for a long time as a correspondent and office manager in the then German capital Bonn , and from 1981 to 1989 as chairman of the Federal Press Conference (BPK). Also in 1989 he took over the duties of deputy editor-in-chief of the HAZ.
In the meantime, Strauch had already been awarded the Theodor Wolff Prize in 1984, before he was a member of the jury of the Theodor Wolff Prize from 1988 to 1994.
Rudolf Strauch's other awards included the award of the Lower Saxony Cross of Merit, 1st Class, in 1994 .
On the death of the journalist, his editorial team recalled “his analyzes, his sense of language” and the deceased's fine humor in a obituary notice in the HAZ. The burial was announced for April 9, 2019 at the Röttgener cemetery on Reichsstrasse in Bonn.
