Rudolf Therkatz

Rudolf Karl Josef Therkatz (born August 16, 1908 in Cologne ; † December 16, 1961 there ) was a German actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Therkatz stood together with Karl Maria Schley (1908–1980) at the age of 19 for the first time on an amateur stage. He appeared as an actor while studying drama and got his first engagement at the Westphalian State Theater in Paderborn in 1936. He then came via Wilhelmshaven, Bonn, Strasbourg and again Cologne, finally to Düsseldorf in 1947, where he was committed to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus until his death . Since 1941 he was married to Anneliese Marlene Thuar.

He was also a busy radio play speaker in a wide variety of genres. He was heard in 1951 in the Paul Temple radio play Paul Temple and the Curzon case by Francis Durbridge and in 1956 in the homecoming drama As far as feet carry after Josef Martin Bauer . In 1949, under the direction of Wilhelm Semmelroth , he spoke the title role in the comedy The Sold Grandfather , with the siblings Willy and Lucy Millowitsch, who are still largely unknown outside of Cologne .

Therkatz died after a brain operation in the Cologne University Clinic and was buried on December 21, 1961 in the Düsseldorf North Cemetery .
