Rudolf Wehrli

Rudolf Wehrli (born June 24, 1949 in Zurich ) is a Swiss manager . From 2012 to 2018 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Clariant .

Life

Rudolf Wehrli studied at the Universities of Basel and Zurich and received his doctorate in theology and philosophy . His first professional position was in 1979 at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company .

In 1984 he became a member of the Senior Management of Schweizerische Kreditanstalt (SKA), today's Credit Suisse . In 1986 he was promoted to marketing director and member of the executive board at Silent Gliss International . He became a member of the Gurit Holding Group Management in 1996. In 1998 he became COO , two years later CEO of Gurit Holding, in 2008 he became Vice President of Clariant AG, and from 2012 to 2018 he was its Chairman of the Board.

Until 2013, Wehrli was at the head of the umbrella organization of the Swiss economy, Economiesuisse .

Wehrli is married for a second time and has four grown children from his first marriage. He lives in Silvaplana .
