Rudolf Weth

Rudolf Weth (born March 31, 1937 in Wuppertal ) is a German Protestant theologian, author and editor of theological writings. He was a lecturer in Protestant theology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .

Live and act

Rudolf Weth studied Protestant theology in Wuppertal, Heidelberg, Basel and Bonn, where he also received his doctorate. He then worked as a vicar and pastor in Duisburg parishes. In 1967 he accepted a position as assistant to Jürgen Moltmann at the University of Tübingen. From 1973 to 2003 he was director and theological director of the Neukirchener Erziehungsverein , headquartered in Neukirchen-Vluyn , Germany. Under his leadership, the Erziehungsverein developed from a small institution for home education to one of the most extensive diaconal institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia and one of the largest German child and youth welfare organizations. From 1988 to 2010 he was honorary president of Duisburger Kindernothilfe .

He is with the Protestant theologian and classical philologist Irmgard Weth , geb. Scheffbuch (* 1943), married.
