Rudolf Wolfer

Rudolf Wolfer (born June 17, 1912 in Tübingen ; † July 19, 1994 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Wolfer attended elementary school and grammar school in Sigmaringen , studied veterinary medicine at the University of Munich and was active there for four years for the mountain rescue service. In 1938 he moved to Augsburg , where he initially worked as a hoof orthopedist in the administrative district of Swabia . During the Second World War he was chief veterinarian of an army training forge. In 1948 he took part in the construction of the state shoeing school as well as the state technical school of the Bavarian blacksmithing trade in Augsburg, where he was particularly active in the field of trade policy.

Wolfer was also involved in gardening: in 1956 he became chairman of the Augsburg allotment gardeners, and he was also active in the executive bodies of the federal and Bavarian regional associations for allotment gardening. In 1957 he founded the Green Circle working group for Augsburg and the surrounding area , of which he was the first chairman. As one of the first in Bavaria, he dealt with the issues of environmental protection, the creation of local recreation areas and landscape management.

In 1960 he moved into the Augsburg city council. The focus of his work there was human resources and finance as well as culture. From 1968 he was used as an official veterinarian.
