The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 62nd time in 1946/47 . The most important Scottish football cup competition began on January 25, 1947 and ended with the final on April 19, 1947 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes, the game was replayed. If this was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out. The title won for the first time in the club history of Aberdeen FC , in the final the Dons beat Hibernian Edinburgh 2-1 with goals from George Hamilton and Stanley Williams .
