Rudolf von Güttingen († September 9, 1226 in Rome ) was abbot of St. Gallen from 1220 and bishop of Chur from 1224 until his death . It was first documented in 1208.

Rudolf came from the noble family von Güttingen from Thurgau . He had been a monk since 1208, became provost in 1211 , dean and cellar in 1219, and abbot of St. Gallen in 1220. After the death of Chur Bishop Arnold von Matsch , there was a double election by the cathedral chapter . The two elected, Heinrich von Rialt and Albert von Güttingen, a brother of Rudolf, died in 1223, before a decision by the Pope. Rudolf became bishop of Chur in 1224 at the latest. Pope Honorius III. allowed him to remain abbot of St. Gallen for another three years on February 23, 1224. His lavish lifestyle led to the abbey and monastery becoming indebted. In 1226 he accompanied Emperor Friedrich II to Italy, where he succumbed to a fever in Rome. He was buried in the Lateran Church.
