Act

Berlinger received his doctorate in 1940 in Munich under FJ von Rintelen. In 1947 he completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Munich with a thesis on The Paradox of Nothing . The book Das Nothing and Death (1954) emerged from the habilitation thesis . The philosopher Alois Dempf praised this book as "an excellent example of speculative philosophy" . "With a strict philosophy of principles, Berlinger succeeds in the difficult discussion of existence, being and nothing in narrative, rational language. The very fact that he can communicate speculative philosophy in rational and legible language is an essential part of the great achievement of his book." In 1955 Berlinger was appointed to the University of Würzburg as successor to Hans Meyer. Here he taught until his retirement in 1984. He was full professor of the philosophical faculty (Chair II) at the University of Würzburg . Berlinger was a Catholic metaphysician .

Winfried Böhm is one of his students .
