action

At the end of the 19th century the dog Buck lived in the southern United States. One day he is kidnapped by his owner's gardener due to gambling debts and taken to Alaska as a sled dog. In the course of the story, the "call of the wild" reaches him more and more. After many adventures with constantly changing sleigh drivers, Buck is rescued by John Thornton. The two become an inseparable couple. After the death of its last master, the dog, which is now without ties to humans, finally follows this call and joins a wolf pack.

Reviews

The film magazine Cinema judged: "Well-played, quite true-to-original classic adaptation". The lexicon of international film wrote: "Although the film can only inadequately reproduce the atmosphere and drama of the relentless struggle for existence, it delivers dignified television entertainment with sympathetic actors, admirable training performances and a family-friendly atmosphere."
