Rufi is a scattered settlement in the municipality of Schänis in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen . About 430 people live in the village.

geography

The village center is 429  m above sea level. M. By Rufi flows of Rufibach, and there are in Switzerland, many of the same streams. "Rufi" was derived from a Rüfi. That means a load of natural material as a result of heavy rainfall. The Rufibach takes up the Maseltrangerbach and flows into the Linth Canal. The 380 kV Bonaduz-Breite line runs at the confluence of the two streams .

traffic

The village, located on the eastern edge of the Linth Plain, is accessible from the main road between Schänis and Kaltbrunn . There are numerous secondary and 3rd class streets in and around Rufi. The village center is served by the Ziegelbrücke - Uznach post bus line.
