Rufus Arnold Alexis Keppel, 10th Earl of Albemarle (born July 16, 1965 ) is a British peer and designer . From 1968 to 1979 he carried the courtesy title Viscount Bury .

Origin and education

Rufus Keppel is the son of Derek William Charles Keppel, Viscount Bury, and Marina Davidoff, a daughter of Count Serge Orloff-Davidoff. Since his father died before his grandfather, Rufus Keppel inherited the title of Earl of Albemarle in 1979 after the grandfather's death at the age of 14. Keppel lived with his parents in England and Italy . He received his academic training from the Chelsea College of Art and Design and the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design .

Through his grandmother, Lady Victoria Wynn-Carrington, Lord Albemarle holds one twentieth of the office of Lord Great Chamberlain , one of the Great Officers of State in England and Wales. Descended from William Keppel, 7th Earl of Albemarle , he is a distant cousin of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall . Through the reform of the British parliamentary system in 1999, he lost his inherited seat in the House of Lords .

In 2001 Rufus Keppel married Sally Claire Tadayon, a sculptor with Danish and Iranian roots, in Havana . Designer Tom Ford from Yves St. Laurent designed the wedding dress. The couple belong to the international jet set , which can be seen regularly at parties, which is reported in the press. After a long stay in the United States, Keppel returned to England. He is the founder of the shirt company Albemarle of London and managing director of Albemarle Design Consulting .

The couple have one child, Augustus Sergei Darius Keppel, born in 2003, Viscount Bury.
