history
In the 15th century, the knight Bleich von Waldeck , a vassal of the Margrave of Baden , was named the last owner of the castle. Presumably there was originally a Roman watch tower on the site .
Until 1973 there were still 1.50 m high masonry and foundations of the 14 m² core castle and the moat . Presumably it was a tower castle . In 1973 the forest administration of the city of Karlsruhe removed the ruins, filled the moat and created a playground with a hiking hut. Small remains of the castle wall are still visible today. Since 2009 the remains of the castle have been uncovered again by the Association for the History of Wolfartsweier .
