Rune Herregodts (born July 27, 1998 in Aalst ) is a Belgian cyclist who competes in races on the road and track .

Athletic career

Rune Herregodts began his career in competitive cycling at the Wielstool Aalst Rudy Dhaenens . In 2016 he became Belgian youth champion in the team time trial . In 2019 he became Belgian champion of the elite in the singles pursuit . At the UEC European Rail Championships 2019 in Apeldoorn , he finished sixth in the single pursuit. He set the third fastest time that a Belgian driver had achieved in this discipline. In 2020 he was nominated for participation in the World Railroad Championships in Berlin after starting two races of the 2019/20 Rail World Cup in the pursuit disciplines .

Herregodts has been driving for the Lotto Soudal U23 team since 2018 .
