Rune Pedersen (born October 9, 1979 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player . The goalkeeper is currently under contract with FC Nordsjælland in the Danish Superliga .

Career

Rune Pedersen began his career in the youth of Hvidovre IF before joining the Kjøbenhavns Boldklub , which has a close cooperation with FC Copenhagen . Kjøbenhavns Boldklub is a reserve team for FC Copenhagen, so Pedersen made his professional debut in goal for FCK in August 2000 when he played for the injured Michael Stensgaard . With FC Copenhagen he won the championship title twice, but did not play a season as a regular goalkeeper because he could not prevail against Magnus Kihlstedt and Thomas Myhre . After two and a half years with FCK, he turned down a new contract offer.

After Pedersen had not renewed his contract in Denmark, he moved to FC Modena , where he only stayed six months.

After the brief stint in Italy was over, he moved back to his Danish homeland for Aarhus GF , as a substitute goalkeeper behind Steffen Rasmussen . For the 2005/06 season he joined Nottingham Forest .

After two years in England, Pedersen moved to Lyngby BK . Lyngby rose in the first season with Pedersen in the Danish 1st Division. In 2009 he was loaned to Odense BK, but could not prevail against Roy Carroll . When the rental business was over, he went back to Lyngby, where he made it back to the Super League . During the 2011/12 winter break, Pedersen moved to FC Nordsjælland .
