Rungsted Ishockey (since January 2016 also Rungsted Seier Capital ) is a Danish ice hockey team from Rungsted , around 30 km north of the capital Copenhagen , which has been playing in the top Danish league, the Metal Ligaen , since 2013 .

history

Until 2004 the club was known as Rungsted Cobras , after which it was called Nordsjælland Cobras , although the location in Rungsted was retained. The team won the Danish championship four times ; 1955, 1963, 2002 and 2019, the first two times still as Rungsted IK .

The professional team was later spun off from the parent club Rungsted IK , but the club's amateur teams still compete under this name.

In 2009 the operating company of the professional team had to go into bankruptcy , so that the team was withdrawn from the top Danish league, the AL-Bank Ligaen, after the 2009/10 season . The first team of the home club continued playing in the second division, the 1st division , and won their championship in 2013. The club's management then applied for a license for the first division, which they received in May 2013.

Since the end of December 2017, the Rungsted Seier Capital venue has been called Bitcoin Arena .
