history

The place name goes back to the Rueperskhürchen (settlement near the church of St. Rupert) mentioned in 1614. The church in Ruppertskirchen is, as the place name suggests, consecrated to St. Rupert. The previous building, a late Romanesque complex, was built in the 13th century and was originally dedicated to St. Lampertus. The Ruppertskirchen volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1885 in the former municipality that was created in Bavaria by the municipal edict in 1818 . On January 1, 1972, Ruppertskirchen was incorporated into Arnstorf. The road through Ruppertskirchen was named in memory of the last mayor of the municipality of Ruppertskirche, Peter Huber from Siegerstorf.
