Ruprecht von Laurenburg

Ruprecht , also Rupert or Robert , (* around 1050, † around 1110) was a count in the Siegerland in 1097 and from 1079 to 1089 Archbishop-Mainzian Vogt in Siegen . Count of Laurenburg .

Ruprecht was Vogt of the Prince Archbishopric of Mainz in Siegen from 1079 to 1089 , at that time a hereditary office that passed to his son Dudo. Ruprecht had at least three sons: Dudo , Udalrich (Ulrich) and Drutwin III. Mr. von Miehlen . He is considered to be one of the founding fathers of the Nassau family . The line of Otto III. von Wettergau of the House of Nassau ends around 1124 with his death. The Counts Rupert or Ruprecht (1124–1152) and Arnold von Laurenburg (1124–1148), sons of Count Dudo, took possession of Nassau Castle around 1120.
