Ruslan Khain

Ruslan Khain ( Russian Руслан Хаин , * 1972 in Leningrad ) is an American modern jazz musician ( double bass , arrangement ) from Russia .

Live and act

Khain began playing the double bass in 1993; from 1994 to 1997 he attended the Mussorgsky Musikkolleg in his hometown. In 1998 he played in Gennady Goldstein's band Saxophones of Saint-Petersburg . The following year he moved to New York City, where he has lived and worked as a jazz musician ever since. He played u. a. in the Smalls Jazz Club , with the Kent Glenn Big Band and its trio in the Swing 46 Club . Since 2004 he has been a regular member of the Valery Ponomarev Quintet and its Big Band . In 2007 he recorded the album Tie It In under his own name , on which u. a. Yoshirō Okazaki participated. He currently appears with his own formation at the Fat Cat Club . In the field of jazz, he was involved in five recording sessions between 2005 and 2017.
