The Russian National Unit for short RNE ( Russian Русское Национальное Единство ) is a paramilitary organized neo-Nazi political party that was founded in 1990 by neo-Nazi Aleksandr Barkaschow in Moscow .

history

The Russian National Unity was founded in October 1990 by Alexandr Barkaschow, who maintains good contacts with the German right-wing extremist aid organization for national political prisoners and their relatives and the Freedom German Workers' Party , which has now been banned . During the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993 , more than 160 armed members were in the White House and sided with the People's Deputies Congress of the Russian Federation . The organization supported the Russian government during the First and Second Chechen Wars . According to leadership figures, the organization had more than 50,000 members in 1998. After a split in 1999, the organization's activity declined sharply.

Together with other right-wing extremist and neo-Nazi organizations such as the National Liberation Movement and Alexander Dugin's Eurasian Youth Union , the RNE supports Russia in the war in Ukraine and recruits fighters. One member, Pavel Gubarev , has appeared as the spokesman for the pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk .

According to the founder Barkaschow, the official logo of the RNE is based on the swastika. Since the war in Ukraine, the organization has also used Soviet symbols and the St. George's ribbon .

ideology

Like many other right-wing extremist organizations, the RNE incites against foreigners, but also against parts of the Russian population , especially against Caucasians . Above all, the RNE is characterized by its anti-Semitic stance.
