Ruth Martin-Jones
Ruth Martin-Jones (first marriage Howell, second Swinhoe; born January 28, 1947 in Criccieth ) is a former British long jumper , pentathlon and sprinter .
In 1970, she was starting for Wales at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh sixth in the pentathlon as well as the 4 x 100 meter relay and ninth in the long jump.
At the Olympic Games in 1972, she was eliminated in the long jump in qualification.
In 1974 she won bronze in the long jump at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and was sixth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg .
At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , she was sixth in the pentathlon and seventh in the long jump.
In the long jump she was English champion in 1974 and English indoor champion in 1971. She was four times Welsh champion in long jump (1969, 1973, 1975, 1978) and once in pentathlon (1967).
