Ryōji Tatezawa (born May 16, 1997 ) is a Japanese medium and long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Ryōji Tatezawa gained his first international experience at the 2015 World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang , where he finished 81st in the U20 class in 27:14 minutes. In 2018 he took part in the 1,500 meter run at the Asian Games in Jakarta , where he finished ninth in 3: 49.40 minutes. The following year he was fifth at the Asian Championships in Doha in 3: 44.70 min. In July he retired at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 3: 49.96 minutes in the lead and finished fifth in the 5000 meter run in 14: 16.63 minutes.

In 2017 and 2018, Tatezawa became the Japanese champion in the 1,500 meter run.
