Ryan Cartwright (born March 14, 1981 in Erdington , Birmingham ) is a British actor .

life and career

Cartwright was born in Erdington, a suburb of Birmingham. He received his acting training at the Central Junior Television Workshop ; there he appeared for the first time as an actor in the workshops organized by the organization. He played his first leading role at the age of 15 on the ITV television series The Grimleys . He has had several series and episode roles on British television, including the television series Microsoap (1998), Seriously Weird (2002), Hardware (2003-2004), Donovan (2004), Look Around You (2005) and the sitcom All About Me (2005).

In 2006 Cartwright went to the United States . From 2008 to 2011 he had a recurring supporting role in the American television series Bones - The Bone Hunter ; he played the British intern and laboratory assistant Vincent Nigel-Murray. He held this role until the serial death of his character in the episode Duel to the song of the birds of bad luck in the sixth season. In 2008 he was in the US television movie Dear Prudence on the side of Jane Seymour to see that embodied a talk show host. Cartwright played her personal assistant, Nigel Forsythe III; in this role Cartwright spoke with an American accent . In 2009 he had a recurring role as John Hooker in the third season of the American television series Mad Men ; he embodied a representative of the British upper class.

In preparation for the role, Cartwright spoke extensively with professionals working with autistic patients; he watched documentaries , read blogs written by people with autism, and books by authors with autism, including Temple Grandin and Daniel Tammet. Cartwright's portrayal of the role figure was recognized, especially by neurologists . Cartwright's complexity of presentation was praised; in particular, she avoids the common stereotypes about autism in the mass media .

Cartwright has lived in Los Angeles , California since 2006 .
