Alphas is an American science fiction - television series made by Zak Penn and Michael Karnow was created and from 11 July 2011 at the US channel Syfy aired. The series follows a group of people with supernatural abilities called "alphas" in their efforts to prevent crimes from being committed by other alphas. On January 16, 2013, Syfy announced that the series would not continue with a third season, so that Alphas ends in an unresolved cliffhanger .

action

The plot of the series revolves around five people, so-called "alphas", who have special abilities due to neurological deviations. Under the guidance of the well-known neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. They help Lee Rosen investigate criminal cases in which other alphas are suspected. Rosen and his team operate under the authority of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, a criminology division of the US Department of Defense. While investigating these crimes, it doesn't take the team long to discover that a group known as the "Red Flag", long believed to have been defeated and wiped out, are using other alphas to commit crimes.

characters

Dr. Lee Rosen
Rosen is a neurologist and psychiatrist and the head of the team. He is an ordinary person and therefore has no alpha skills. However, he has the talent to convince people and is a leader. He has a grown daughter who is an Alpha.
Gary Bell
Bell is one of the unit's youngest team members and is autistic. It has the ability to perceive electromagnetic fields and is thus able to intercept SMS messages, locate cell phones or look at images from surveillance cameras. He lives with his mother and befriends the leader of "Red Flag" during the first season.
Cameron Hicks
Hicks is a retired Navy sniper and baseball player. He has the ability of absolute body control. He's an accurate shooter, extremely fast and a great talent in the field of freerunnings. These skills often come in handy when the team is on a chase.
Rachel Pirzad
Pirzard is endowed with a keen sense of smell and hearing. This enables her to identify smells, reconstruct processes or track down people and is therefore often entrusted with securing evidence.
Nina Theroux
Theroux has the ability to manipulate people and is thus able to impose their will on them. To do this, she needs eye contact with her counterpart. This skill helps the team e.g. B. to come to secure rooms or to "overwrite" memories of a short-term memory. In the course of the series it is suggested that this type of manipulation does not work for everyone, especially not when the other person is wearing sunglasses.
Bill Harken
Harken is a former FBI agent and possesses the ability to consciously increase his physical strength. This enables him to move, throw, or smash heavy objects. The disadvantage of this ability is that his aggression increases and he loses his temper as a result.
